There are no particular surprises in store for anyone who has ever played a racing game before, and for the most part, the controls are smooth and responsive. My only real complaint in this early build came from the brakes. I’ve played my share of racing games, and Moto GP 08’s brakes threw me off for the first couple of races. Compared to basically any other racing game I’ve ever played, Moto GP 08 requires you to brake much earlier then I’m used to, and my sense of timing was thrown off completely. Even in the easiest Arcade difficulty, the timing is quite different, so unless they change this for the final version, expect to have to spend a bit of time relearning the basics before you can leap in to the more difficult control types. Moto GP 08 offers a wide variety of available game modes, although nothing that isn’t too standard for the genre. Quick Race, Time Attack and Championship are the most basic of the game modes. Quick Race allows you to take on any track with any racer, in any weather and on any difficulty and is a good way to just leap in and play.
FLIRC XBMC HARMONY FULL
Plug the Flirc USB dongle in, fire up the Flirc Software and Select Controllers > Full Keyboard 2. Which is why I was hoping Dave would confirm he actually had IR remote control of the Fire stick working using it and the Flirc USB. So I fumbled around a while getting issues with multiple keypresses, sometimes needing to press twice on a remote button, mapping, clearing, changing settings etc. Copy down into Notepad what XBMC Keys you are going to map to which Harmony Remote Buttons by referring to the Github keyboard.xml file. I am used to controlling everything with a Harmony One remote, so this is bugging me. Plus the odd shape of the Fire remote makes it a real PITA to use.
FLIRC XBMC HARMONY TV
Probably blew 4 hours of my life and I think I finally landed on a solution so thought I would share: Flirc fire tv harmony plus# Go into “Settings” for the XBMC Device and select “Adjust the Delays (speed settings)” After going through the Pre-Requisites outlined above.Add Flirc XBMC device (Computer>Media Center PC>Flirc>XBMC. Launch and sign in to the Logitech My Harmony software. Head to the Devices Menu and click on the button ’ Add device ’ button as shown below. Suggestions will shown as you type, and Flirc should be seen there. Create your Activity including the TV and the Flirc XBMC devices. Go into “Settings” for the Activity and select “Troubleshoot” Regarding the Flirc Fire TV compatibility, this device is completely compatible with Amazon Fire TV, and in general with lots of other devices. Some users report that theres a huge list of hardware that can be used with the Flirc IR receiver, no matter if youre talking about remotes, or the devices you want to control. Answer yes then on the next screen select your XBMC device. Select “XBMC responds to some commands either too many times or only occasionally.”. Select File>Advanced and make sure that “Builtin Profiles” is checked (this will be autoprogramed for the Harmony Flirc XBMC device in your remote settings). Make sure “Inter-Key Delay” is set to “0”. I will be doing some additional steps in the Harmony setup as I noticed that the Menu, Info, Exit buttons are not programmed to do anything and the Flirc XBMC device doesn’t have a Guide command. So I will be adding some commands to these buttons (either existing commands or using the Red, Green, Blue, Black buttons to add as custom commands and mapping with the Flirc GUI).įlirc, if you could add a Guide command to the Harmony device that would be awesome. As noted I will use Green for Guide but would rather have something out of the box rather than configured by me. I’ve turned off posting to the older firmware images because they have rolled into this one. Also, not sure if there is an opportunity to get these mapped in the Flirc XBMC device and/or get the inter-key delay setting adjusted to match the default in Flirc (if I am doing this right!). This will make it into the next major release of the firmware, and the goal is to have Plex, WMCE, and EyeTV harmony profiles as well. All the buttons in this profile have been paired already with all the XBMC keyboard keys (eden), so you don’t need to do any work. Once added your flirc will work without the need for the pairing software with your favorite media center application, XBMC.
